Ride for a Child 2024
Ride to make a difference for Candlelighters families
Twenty-three years ago, Candlelighters family member Dick Hartung rode in Cycle Oregon in honor of his daughter, Jill. During his ride, he started a fundraising appeal that went out to his family, friends, and business associates. The ride was a huge success. Not only did he challenge himself and conquer the week of riding, he honored Jill’s life by enriching the lives of other families impacted by childhood cancer. In 2002, Dick raised over $12,000. Now, with a goal of $200,000 in 2024, Ride For A Child has raised millions for Candlelighters For Children With Cancer and continues to be Candlelighters’ largest fundraiser of the year.
2024 Ride Details
Cycle Oregon announced the 2024 Rally ride details, and registration is open for both Cycle Oregon and Ride for a Child!
From September 8-13, we’ll ride the Wallowas in Eastern Oregon, exploring the Umatilla and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests, soaring peaks, roaring rivers, forested climbs and expansive open prairies. Candlelighters For Children With Cancer is excited to host our 23rd Ride For A Child event.
Register Soon
Cycle Oregon has shared that there will only be 600 total spots available for the Rally Ride, and although Candlelighters has 45 spots reserved, if they reach capacity before we confirm those 45 spots, they very well may need to take them from us. So PLEASE consider registering for both RFAC and Cycle Oregon by the end February.
