Ride For A Child, (RFAC) our biggest annual fundraiser was featured in the news! One of this year’s Ride for a Child honored children, Heaven, and father/daughter riders, Gregg and Mary Holt, riding for #TeamHeaven share their stories with Jenny Hansson in front of a big camera. We’re so proud of 7 year old Heaven for, among many things,  conquering her nerves and sitting down to an interview with a camera man, news woman, and a bunch of adults watching. All of her answers came from the heart.

What is Ride for a Child? Twenty-one years ago, Candlelighters family member Dick Hartung rode in Cycle Oregon in honor of his daughter, Jill. During his ride, he started a fundraising appeal that went out to his family, friends, and business associates. The ride was a huge success. Not only did he challenge himself and conquer the week of riding, he honored Jill’s life by enriching the lives of other families impacted by childhood cancer. In 2002, Dick raised over $12,000. Now, with a goal of $195,000 in 2022, Ride For A Child has raised millions for Candlelighters For Children With Cancer and continues to be Candlelighters’ largest fundraiser of the year.
