My name is Garrett Waggoner, I am from St. Helens Oregon and when I was 16 years old I was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer. Candlelighters helped me and my family while we were going through this emotional time. As I am typing this I am 22 years old, I am so excited that I can give back to something so important. I plan to work hard and with a smile on my face.

Welcome our new intern, Garrett Waggoner!  You might recognize Garrett from the Luminaries Youth group, on videos telling his personal story, or volunteering at a Candlelighters event. He’s an enthusiastic participant and now in his new role, will officially prepare and lead the weekly Luminaries meetings! He’ll also help with Hospital programs like bedside buddies and snack pantry planning, prep and deliveries. Being part of Garrett’s journey is something we’re really proud of, and we appreciate that for this next phase, he wants to give back to the Candlelighters community.
