Ride for a Child 2026 in the News
From August 29–September 2, 40 cyclists are participating in Cycle Oregon’s annual Rally as part of Candlelighters For Children With Cancer’s annual Ride for a Child fundraiser. This year’s rally and Ride for a Child is taking place in the Applegate Valley in Southern Oregon. Our cyclists are divided into six teams, each riding in honor of a child from our community impacted by childhood cancer, our “Honored Children.”
This year, four of our Honored Children were able to attend the ride in Southern Oregon; Cohen, Zeke, Joshua, and Connor joined us at base camp to celebrate with the riders for a Ride Out held at basecamp in Riverside Park, Grants Pass, OR. It was a meaningful reminder of the children and families at the heart of Ride for a Child and the impact this fundraiser has on our community.
This special day also caught the attention of local news outlets across Southern Oregon! We’re grateful to these media partners for helping us share the story behind Ride for a Child and the children who inspire it.
