Mary Lou, a Candlelighters Hometown Hero!
Every Friday morning at 7:45 am, the hosts of New Country 93.3 (KKNU) highlight a member of the Eugene community as a Hometown Hero. These Hometown Heroes are “everyday folks that are up to real good.” Recently, Candlelighters’ Mid-Willamette Valley chapter lead, Mary Lou Bradley, was featured as a Hometown Hero for her work as the chapter’s coordinator!
For nearly 30 years, Mary Lou has been a dedicated volunteer who uses her lived experience to support families in the Eugene and greater Mid-Willamette valley area. When her son, Chris, was 9 years old, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Candlelighters was able to support Mary Lou and her family through Chris’ treatment, which inspired her to give back to the organization in a truly invaluable way.
