Give Hope by Giving Blood–Candlelighters Partners with the Red Cross

Candlelighters is proud to host two blood drives a year in partnership with the American Red Cross to collect life saving blood in alignment with our mission to support families facing childhood cancer.

Our Program Director, Nicole Ek, was recently featured in the Red Cross’ Cascade Region blog, where she shared about her family’s experience with childhood cancer. Her daughter, Emme, was diagnosed with brain cancer at nine-years-old. Children undergoing cancer treatment often face depleted blood supplies and need transfusions during operations. During and after treatment, donated blood has provided many life saving transfusions for Emme.

On April 30, 2026, from 9am-2pm, Candlelighters will be hosting a blood drive at our Beaverton headquarters. Donation time slots can be reserved through the Red Cross’ website here.
