March Parent/Caregiver Support Group
Our Parent & Caregiver Support Group started because connecting with other parents and caregivers who understand having a child diagnosed with cancer can be incredibly helpful. This is a chance to meet other parents and caregivers and share your thoughts, stories, and concerns related to childhood cancer. If there’s a specific topic you would like to address, please send it to Nicole ahead of time.
Parent & Caregiver Support Group meets online, is hosted by Candlelighters, and moderated by Dr. Marianne Kabour. We meet on Zoom the first Wednesday of each month at 6:45 p.m. We will email you the Zoom link in advance.
Candlelighters For Children With Cancer was founded in 1977 by five families who had one thing in common: a child impacted by cancer.
At the time, there were no organizations to connect and support families going through this journey. Now, 45 years later, local families have come to depend on Candlelighters. emergency financial assistance, regular family activities, in-hospital programs and an annual family camp. Candlelighters is here to ensure that families have the resources and connections they need to navigate childhood cancer together.
Today, the organization has supported nearly 100,000 family members through the crisis of childhood cancer.
